Kiwi Seed was founded in 1989 by Bruce Clark. The intention being to establish a Marlborough owned Grain and Seed Company offering independent advice and product options to the agriculture and horticulture community throughout NZ.

Since that time a processing plant and retail outlet have been added to the business and 14 staff are employed to service our large client base, both urban and rural.

The diversified nature of our business has enabled Kiwi Seed to become a one-stop shop for lifestyle block owners and farm managers alike.

Whether you live locally or further afield we are happy to help with options. Our freight partners can supply cost effective solutions which make dealing with us a great option!

How are we different from other seed companies?

It is Kiwi Seed's relationship with TasGlobal Seed - a research partnership between the University of Tasmania and the breeding team at Ardent Seeds, that has led to the introduction to the New Zealand market of some exciting new grass and clover cultivars that are proving to be important plants in New Zealand’s pasture environment.
